For a second there, we thought Jordan and Alex had renewed their vows...

Until we saw these pictures, we were pretty sure we'd been to the best wedding ever this weekend, but now we feel a little hard done by. The bride at the do we went to wore a little cream number... gorgeous? Yes. But how much cooler would the pictures be if she and her beloved had dressed as Shrek and Princess Fiona?

OK, so they might have regretted it massively within hours of saying "I, bloke dressed as Shrek, take thee, bird dressed as Fiona", but at least it would have given the guests a laugh.

Viv and Tracey Williams made the stupid and regrettable quirky and original decision because they went to see the movie on their first date.

"Neither of us needed persuading at all," says the green groom. "We watched the films, became addicted and when we decided to get married we both knew how we wanted the wedding to be. I wouldn’t mind betting we’ve started a trend – the family absolutely loved it. Our friends always used to say we looked like the characters. We didn’t take it offensively as we like Shrek so much."

Other guests at the wedding in South Wales also dressed as film characters. Good for them, but we think we'll skip this "trend" for now and stick with our little pink dress. We're boring like that.
